“I want to say right at the beginning that I am so grateful for Crystal and all her help!! She is truly a great tutor who helped me so much for the LSAT and during the application process. When I started my LSAT journey it was with a big name tutoring company in February 2024. I took an online live class with them to prepare for the June 2024 exam. I didn't feel fully prepared for the exam because I was not seeing any improvement in the logical reasoning section. I was disappointed with my score because I knew I could do better. After a little break in the summer, I started working with Crystal which was a game changer!! We focused on the logical reasoning section since it was my weaker section, but still worked on the reading comprehensive section. Compared to the big name tutoring company, Crystal was a breath of fresh air. She actually explained each question type: what are they asking, what does it mean, how they work, how to get to the answer. She broke it down in a way that made it easy to understand. She would answer any questions, both during and outside the sessions. Before working with Crystal, I was lucky to get maybe 14/15 out of 25/26 right in logical reasoning. But once I started working with her, I increased it to 21/22 out of 25/26! My practice scores went up as well. The highest score on a practice test I got was a 164. My highest score that I got on the LSAT was a 159 on the November exam but that was higher than the score I got in the June 2024 exam. I actually learned how the logical reasoning section works and how to answer the questions which I didn't learn working with the big name company. “The strategies give you the logical way to get to the answer every time. Even when you get it wrong, upon review it becomes clear what you did wrong and how to correct those mistakes for next time. You're not going in blind anymore and feeling things out, you can give a reason for things now and make better decision to come at the answer. With practice AND review, you can fall into a grove where you've perfectly hacked how to answer questions. I say a grove because at the end of the day it is practice much like exercise where it is super important to stay consistent because any time off can set you back to where you need to build back up. It requires keeping your mind sharp and moving with the questions and the though processes you need to answer them. The strategies have definitely made it much easier to work through the exam! Like everything, you also have to find your weaknesses and my biggest one besides autopilot was reading clearly. I struggled with understanding what was happening as silly as it sounds but subject + predicate plus a lot of intentional reading helped so much! Once you hack the questions it is like a little kid wearing glasses for the first time, its so clear and you didn't know you were even able to do that! “The train station method is very helpful in creating the right mental process needed to answer SA questions! With lower difficulty questions it becomes almost automatic the process and with higher difficulty, it makes it way easier to keep track of all the pieces of information you are considering when looking for the right answer. The scripts are my bible for prep because they contain all the steps needed and most importantly the specific goal. As I became more familiar, the most important part was the specific goal. I would measure every answer choice against the specific goal and it was the key to answering the questions. It took the overthinking and the guess work and the margin for error out of the equation and just allowed me to focus on the actual answer choice and whether it was potentially the right one or not. Bad habit checklists help when reviewing an answer choice and breaking down where you went wrong. It helped at the beginning when I was still getting the hang of things. ”

There are countless LSAT tutors, courses, and platforms out there, and as someone who has taken the LSAT three times, I genuinely wish I had found this sooner. Most platforms teach you the basics, but with full transparency, the highest score I was able to achieve using that approach was a 150.
